Niki Sidler Richardson M.Ed., LDT, CALT-QIT

Niki is a licensed and certified dyslexia therapist with a passion for teaching students to read. With 16 years of experience working within middle Tennessee public schools at the school and district level, Niki is well-versed in the legislation surrounding dyslexia and response to intervention. TN Dyslexia Alliance opened it’s doors in June 2023 with a mission to provide advocacy support, dyslexia therapy, screening, and educator training. Niki is an advocate for students (and parents) with a dyslexia diagnosis, suspected dyslexia diagnosis, or identified as having characteristics of dyslexia. Dyslexia therapy services include direct, systematic, explicit instruction using the Build (gr. K-1) or Take Flight (gr.1 - adult) programs. Therapy can be completed virtually or in-person up to 4 sessions per week. Niki is passionate about helping students succeed and parents navigate how to best support their student. In the fall of 2025, Niki will complete the training necessary to become a Qualified Instructor of Certified Academic Language Therapists.

What is an Academic Language Therapist?

The Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA) is the oldest credentialing organization dedicated to advancing the field of dyslexia therapy and intervention as well as supporting individuals with dyslexia and related disorders. Academic Language Therapists are highly trained and knowledge professionals who specialize in dyslexia. They undergo rigorous training programs in order to meet stringent requirements for certification with ALTA to ensure they possess the expertise needed to address the unique needs of individuals with dyslexia. Academic Language Therapists develop tailored therapeutic plans to address a student’s specific challenges.
